Position Summary

We are seeking a highly technical and people-focused Senior Manager for R&D Engineering team.

You will lead a new product development engineering team with initial focus on test engineering.

This leader will build and develop a high-performing team, establish effective verification and validation strategies, and ensure products meet technical, performance, quality, and customer requirements.

Although verification and validation will be the team’s initial responsibility, the role is not limited to V&V.

The Senior Manager and the team will also support product development activities, including requirements development, prototyping, design reviews, technical risk reduction, root-cause analysis, and early-stage testing.

The ideal candidate has significant experience managing engineering teams and strong technical knowledge of electronics and electrical systems.

The candidate should also understand software concepts, mechanical mechanisms, and the interaction of these disciplines within complex electromechanical products.

This individual must demonstrate strong critical thinking, sound technical judgment, effective talent development, and a commitment to maintaining a positive, motivated, and accountable team culture.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Development

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of verification and validation engineers supporting new product development.

• Establish clear priorities, responsibilities, performance expectations, and professional development plans.

• Build a positive and collaborative culture that promotes accountability, technical rigor, continuous learning, and constructive problem-solving.

• Assess team capabilities and address skill or capacity gaps through employee development, recruiting, and contract resources.

• Work with Project Management and other leaders to plan and balance resources across multiple development programs.

Product Development and Technical Leadership

• Contribute to the full product development cycle.

Activities involving requirements definition, system architecture, prototyping, design reviews, risk assessments, and technical investigations.

• Provide hands on technical leadership in electronics, system integration, and electromechanical product development.

• Develop, execute and refine V&V strategies that result in world class products.

• Develop, write and refine test plans, methods, protocols, and reports such that they are technically sound, repeatable, traceable, and properly documented.
