Job Overview

Moceri Companies, a family-owned real estate developer and master planner since the 1950s, is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team in the south east Michigan area.

This role is critical in controlling construction costs, preparing accurate budgets, and ensuring our projects meet both financial and quality expectations.

As a Construction Estimator, you will analyze construction drawings, obtain competitive bids from vendors and subcontractors, resolve cost discrepancies, and maintain up-to-date pricing databases.

Your expertise will help guide decision-making, ensure fiscal responsibility, and contribute to the delivery of the high-end custom homes, apartments, and communities for which Moceri is known.

Key Responsibilities


* Project and control construction costs by gathering and analyzing data.


* Prepare budgets by reviewing drawings, updating specifications, and projecting costs.


* Evaluate purchase offers, factoring in site requirements, changes, and additions.


* Obtain bids from qualified subcontractors and vendors, negotiating pricing as needed.


* Maintain accurate cost keys and price masters.


* Resolve discrepancies through detailed cost analysis.


* Prepare special reports and track cost trends.


* Maintain quality service in accordance with company standards.


* Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs to relevant teams.


* Stay current on industry standards and best practices through ongoing education and networking.

Qualifications


* Required:


* Bachelor’s degree.


* 10+ years of estimating experience, preferably in custom home or multifamily construction.


* Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and builder software programs.


* Strong analytical, decision-making, and documentation skills.


* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.


* Must submit to a background check.


* Preferred:


* Michigan Builder’s License.


* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
