Work you'll do

As a Software Engineer III; Database Team Lead in the GPS HST Technology group you will:


* Oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of large SQL Server database systems, ensuring high availability, integrity, and security


* Lead database design, development, tuning, and automation initiatives to improve performance and meet business requirements


* Manage, mentor, and develop a team of database administrators and developers, fostering a collaborative and accountable work environment


* Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on database-related matters-managing expectations, translating business needs into technical requirements, and providing regular updates


* Oversee troubleshooting, problem resolution, and root cause analysis for database outages or performance issues


* Establish and enforce database administration and development best practices, including security, backup and recovery, and documentation


* Plan and oversee database-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and integrations, ensuring alignment with client and organizational goals
