Job Summary

Under general direction of a Forensic Technician Supervisor, performs duties related to the intake, autopsy, release, specimen/evidence preparation and toxicology analysis functions of the Medical Examiner in accordance with all applicable Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs).

Minimum Qualifications



* Possession of a High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) test certificate AND


* Four (4) years full-time work experience in a funeral home, morgue, body transport service, or Medical Examiner's/coroner's office is required.

-OR-


* Graduation from an accredited university or college with an Associates Degree AND


* Two (2) years full-time work experience in a funeral home, morgue, body transport service, or Medical Examiner's/coroner's office is required.

-OR-


* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Science; Criminal Justice; or Forensic Science is required.

AND


* Must work in a morgue environment which requires close proximity to deceased human remains and exposure to unpleasant sights, smells, blood and other body fluids.


* Must work rotating shifts to provide 24/7 coverage including holidays and weekends.

This position is considered a safety-sensitive position.

Candidates who are selected to fill safety-sensitive positions must pass a required drug test as part of the pre-employment background check process.
