Wollaston Alloys/CPP Boston is seeking a driven individual to join our team as a Lab Technician! The Lab Technician is a crucial position within our facility.

Essential Functions:


* Operate Spectrometer Equipment


* Prepare and test metal samples


* Record and report results


* Ensure samples meet required chemical standards


* Assist in identifying and correcting non-conformities


* Read and interpret customer specifications, industry standards, quality control documents and work instructions.


* Support Melt department pouring schedule


* Input chemistry and related info into database/business system.


* Perform calibration/verification of analyzing equipment


* Clean and maintain the testing equipment used in the lab.


* Report need of maintenance for equipment to supervisor


* Observe all company rules and regulations


* Perform other related duties as required or as directed.

Qualifications:


* High school diploma.

Vocational/Technical school preferred.


* Strong mathematical and chemical aptitude.


* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.


* Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


* Good interpersonal skills.

Good verbal communication skills.

Team oriented.


* Flexible; self-motivated


* Willing to work in a team environment atmosphere


* Willing to cross train in other areas when down time occurs

Starting pay is $20 USD per hour
