Job Summary:

Under moderate supervision a Refrigeration Technician 2 is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and examining the ammonia refrigeration, and in some cases boiler, and air systems.

This role requires performing preventative maintenance to said systems, and the willingness to respond to any system interruptions and have the flexibility to be on call to conduct emergency repairs.

Must be able to work and communicate with a diverse variety of individuals, including fellow technicians, supervisors, clients and assist with upkeep of critical documents.

 

Essential Position Functions: 

1.

Working knowledge of ammonia refrigeration, and in some cases boiler, and air systems; as well as Process Safety Management (PSM), is required.

2.

Supports both the PSM and Refrigeration team to maintain all PSM, Refrigeration and Safety documentation retention.

(SOP’s, LOTO’s, and P&ID’s)

3.

Maintains PMs of refrigeration system, and in some cases boiler, and sir systems.

4.

Confer with operators and observes, tests, and evaluates operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose root cause of malfunction.

5.

Disassemble machinery and equipment to make repairs.

6.

Perform daily chemical testing and logging all test results, adjusting required to maintain refrigeration & utility system within established limits.

7.

Periodic use and maintenance of fitted full face respirator.

8.

Assists with inventory control.

9.
