North America NPD Supply Chain Manager

Under the limited supervision of the Director of Supply Chain Americas & Global Category Management, the North America NPD Supply Chain Manager is responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of prototype and first-article components.

This includes negotiating prices, analyzing costs, collaborating with engineers on supplier and technology selections, and optimizing materials metrics for new designs.

Key responsibilities also include using preferred suppliers, part re-use and multi-sourcing strategies, as well as using best-cost sources and eSourcing to support the New Product Development (NPD) and Design Cost Reduction processes.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:


* Participate on New Product Development (NPD) and Engineering Design Cost Reduction  teams as Supply Chain Single Point of Contact (SPOC) 
+ Facilitate early, cross-functional collaboration during BOM reviews to ensure a coordinated and strategic sourcing approach
+ Coordinate New Product Development Gate 3 Material Reviews
+ Engage with the cross-functional team as needed to enhance input and secure alignment on sourcing strategies


* Assess and communicate technical risks, business requirements, deliverables and schedules supporting NPD initiatives.

Improve supplier performance by focusing on supplier service levels, PPM, reducing material costs, consolidating suppliers, and negotiating payment terms


* Coordinate input between Category Managers, Tactical Procurement, Materials Managers, Manufacturing, and Product Engineering, to drive core sourcing initiatives such as supplier selection, components grouping, eSourcing as primary mechanism and Global best cost sourcing of components 


* Negotiate contracts that align with Emerson's standards and requirements


* Support key projects throughout their lifespan from early engagement in the project quoting stage though completed project execution


* Conduct post-project reviews with project managers and key team members to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement

For This Role, You Will Need:


* Business or technical degree 


* 5+ years of Strategic Supply Chain experience including international sourcing


* Experience with multiple facets of manufacturing processes (machining, casting, stamping, electronics, motors)


* Ability to comprehend and interpret engineering drawings & specifications
