Commercial Manager

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Manager to support the delivery of a major infrastructure project in the Capital Region of Finland.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a technically demanding and high-profile development alongside a reputable international team.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the project, including financial oversight, procurement strategy, and risk mitigation.

You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, on-site teams, and the client to ensure that all commercial activities align with project goals and budgetary requirements.

Key Responsibilities:


* Lead the commercial management of a large-scale construction project, including budgeting, forecasting, procurement planning, and cost control


* Manage and mentor a dedicated commercial team to achieve high standards of performance and accountability


* Produce accurate and insightful commercial reports, including monthly cost reviews, financial forecasts, and cash flow statements


* Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and financial objectives


* Conduct due diligence on prospective subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring consistent processes and commercial protection


* Ensure that all subcontract and purchase order documentation is robust and in accordance with company and contract standards


* Identify and manage project risks and commercial challenges, ensuring they are mitigated effectively


* Maintain clear communication with client representatives and the supply chain to support delivery goals


* Ensure timely and accurate certification, invoicing, and payment processes, both upstream and downstream

Qualifications & Experience:


* A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction/commercial discipline


* 10+ years of relevant experience in commercial roles within the construction industry


* Strong commercial and contractual knowledge, with the ability to manage complex financial and technical challenges


* Previous experience working with a main contractor is essential


* Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical services is advantageous


* Familiarity with a range of procurement routes, including lump sum, remeasurement, and two-stage/open book approaches


* Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
