Equipment Operator II

The County of Riverside seeks candidates to fill positions throughout Riverside County.

Riverside County Department of Waste Resources has an opportunity for an Equipment Operator II located at the Badlands Landfill, located in Moreno Valley, or Lamb Canyon Landfill, located in Beaumont.

Possession of a valid California Commercial Driver License: Class B i s required when applying for this position.

A DMV Driving Report (generated within the last 30 days) must be attached to your application to advance to an interview.

This position involves the operation of heavy construction equipment.

The incumbent will undertake various maintenance and construction tasks, with the opportunity to work independently or take a lead role overseeing crews.

The responsibilities of the Equipment Operator II will include operation heavy construction equipment such as Bulldozers, Compactors, Scrapers, Motor Graders and Excavators in support of landfill site operations.

The i ncumbent in this position will use machinery to push, compact and cover municipal solid waste in close proximity to the public.

Additional duties may include occasional operation of light equipment including a water truck for dust control, loaders, backhoes, etc.

for road maintenance/grading work; and to do other work as required.

Competitive candidates will possess experience in the maintenance or construction of landfill facilities, including the operation of Bulldozers, Loaders, Scrapers, Motor Graders and Excavators in support of landfill site operations.

And, knowledge of their required safety procedures and operational rules.

Schedule:
4/10, from 5:30 a.m.

to 3:30 p.m., with at least one Saturday worked per month (subject to change based on department needs).

The incumbent will receive differential pay for Saturday shifts.

This position offers a dynamic work schedule with the added benefit of additional compensation for weekend hours.
