Engineering Temp – Water Treatment Services (Part-Time)
Temp 6: $18.68
Work Schedule: Position is 24 – 29 hours per week.
Nature of Work
Engineering Temp will assist the Water Treatment Services Unit with a variety of engineering tasks related to the water system and dams.
The Engineering Temp will work under the supervision and mentorship of engineers in an office environment and will be exposed to many different areas of the water system including treatment, administration, planning, project engineering, control systems, and plant operations.
The temp will perform tasks including, but not limited to:
* Review and interpret construction drawings, site plans, and specifications
* Develop, review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) related to the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system and treatment process system
* Prepare documents to summarize efforts, findings, track progress, etc.
* Research products, coordinate with vendors, request cost proposals
* Support project planning
* Data entry and analytics, creating and maintaining various reports, assist with coordinating planning work activities
* Communicate effectively and coordinate with a variety of plant personnel and internal stakeholders
* Support asset management tracking
* Review and document discrepancies between control system electrical communication drawings and current installed hardware and wiring
* Review or develop calibration reports for analytical devices
* May involve occasional travel to pumping stations
Required Qualifications:
* Pursuing a degree or higher from an accredited college or university in engineering, technology, information science, construction management, water treatment, or related field.
* Capable of working independently, as well ability to take instructions and work as part of a team.
* Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and achieve goals in a fast-paced environment.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and general computer skills
* Strong communication skills, oral and written
* Good organizational skills
* Predictable and reliable attendance.
* Must have a valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
* Drafting experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D.
* Experience with PLC programming ladder logic
* Experience with/understanding of construction drawings (civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation)
