Resident Project Engineer - Water Resources
The Resident Project Engineer is pivotal in engineering and construction projects at Ardurra.
As an on-site representative for project management teams supporting the Construction Manager overseeing Florida water resource projects.
Our Resident Project Engineer will typically be stationed at local project sites across Southern Florida, providing real-time input and ensuring that construction activities comply with project specifications, engineering standards, and safety protocols.
The role of the Resident Engineer is essential for maintaining quality control, ensuring the integrity of the design, and guaranteeing that projects are completed within the established budget and timeline.
This strategic position significantly influences the successful execution of engineering and construction projects, serving as a link between planning and practical implementation.
Primary Function
Ideal candidates will have previous experience in public capital projects particularly in water resource projects, assisting project/construction management professionals to oversee construction contractors and to collaborate with project delivery teams for the successful completion of public infrastructure and facilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of, and ability to interpret, engineered construction plans and details, technical specifications, contract requirements, and engineering drawings, are critical requirements of the position.
Primary Duties
* Responsibilities will include assisting to observe that the work is completed in general accordance with the drawings and specifications, daily field reporting, tracking the contractor's installed quantities, witnessing tests, and documenting test results.
* Review of Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change order proposals, Critical Path Method Schedules, and other related technical construction activities to follow the progress of the project.
* Typical projects involve the construction of flood control, levies, and gated flood control structures for Florida water management clients using various construction methods, such as steel placement, steel pile driving, and concrete pile driving.
* Qualified candidates may work on one or more projects simultaneously.
Education and Experience Requirements
* A bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering and/or construction management is preferred.
Associate degrees or other related degrees and/or educational achievements may be considered with relevant experience.
* 8+ years of experience preferred with a bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of experience with an associate degree.
* Familiarization with local regulations, FDOT, US Army Corps of Engineers, or Florida Water Management Districts preferred.
