Assembler Staff

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


* Work in partial clean room attire; clean room smock, shoe covers, hairnet and gloves.


* Operate hand tools to assemble delicate subsystems


* Use a microscope to perform detailed inspection of in process material and assemblies


* Ability to follow standard operating procedures, identify non-conformances, and work within existing process flows


* Ability to identify issues with existing processes and communicate solutions with engineering team


* Perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy daily


* Maintain a clean and organized workstation

Education & Experience


* Vocational Training or Associate's Degree in relevant technical field (Electronics, Lasers, Optics)


* 1-3 years of hands-on experience working in a high-tech manufacturing environment.


* Ability to work independently.


* Dexterity to handle delicate, small optics with tweezers or other tools


* Previous experience reading, understanding and following procedures and work instructions.


* Excellent spoken and written English, and good communication skills.


* Good record keeping skills, organized, dependable.


* Familiar with working in a cleanroom environment; follower of good housekeeping practices.


* Basic reading, writing and math skills.


* Demonstrated attention to detail.


* Must work well in teams.

Skills


* Previous experience in optic or electronic components manufacture.


* Computer skills: using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), LabView, Oracle or Agile experience a plus.


* Previous experience using high tech equipment.


* Knowledgeable of laser safety and standards, and safety practices in general.


* Knowledge of electrical systems, vacuum systems, welding and/or machining equipment a plus

Working Conditions


* This position works in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements


* Ability to lift heavy objects regularly
