Our Team
The Ocean and Air Import Coordinator is responsible for managing the importation of goods via both ocean and air freight.
This includes overseeing the end-to-end logistics process, coordinating with overseas freight forwarders, customs brokers, airlines, ocean carriers, road trucking companies, and internal teams to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods.
The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of import regulations and procedures.
What You Will Do
* Manage air and ocean freight shipments from origin to destination.
* Track shipments and communicate with carriers/ airlines to resolve any issues or delays.
* Coordinate with external customer to ensure timely delivery.
* Ensure all required import documentation (bills of lading, air waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists, etc.) are accurate and complete.
* Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure compliance with customs regulations and handle the clearance process.
* Stay up to date with changes in import regulations.
* Act as the main point of contact for customers and vendors regarding shipment status, documentation, and any issues that arise during the import process.
* Select carriers and negotiate rates for both ocean and air transportation based on cost, timing, and shipment requirements.
* Proactively identify potential shipping issues (delays, documentation errors, damage, etc.) and implement solutions.
* Monitor shipping costs and work to optimize transportation expenses without compromising service quality.
* Maintain and update records of shipping costs and ensure accurate billing process.
* Resolve any discrepancies related to shipping charges or customs issues
* Act as the main point of contact for customers and vendors regarding shipment status, documentation, and any issues that arise during the import process.
