JOB DESCRIPTION
The Service Technician draws on technical and product knowledge to repair, calibrate or commission industrial field devices such as steam traps, flow meters, analyzers, transmitters, gas detection and control valves.
The Service Technician will also participate in steam trap data gathering and energy audits.
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
Provides customer support via telephone, email or on-site customer locations for the repair, setup, calibration and/or full startup of field devices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Performs energy audits on steam traps and imports field data into custom software for reporting.
* Requires use of various test equipment and calibration devices both handheld and computer based.
* Uses hand tools to open, repair and restore devices to full working status.
* Reads and understands installation, operation and maintenance manuals on devices such as steam traps, gas analyzers, temperature/pressure/flow devices and valve actuators/positioners.
* Maintain company equipment and document all related activities by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress and duration.
