About the Role

As the Powerhouse Electrical Coordinator at our Wagerup Refinery, you will provide frontline leadership for the safe, planned and cost-effective delivery of electrical maintenance across Powerhouse operations and power distribution.

Reporting to the Powerhouse Superintendent, you will coordinate maintenance activities, major overhauls and shutdowns to maximise plant reliability, availability and the uninterrupted supply of utilities to the refinery.

This day-shift position works 10.3-hour shifts on a 5-on, 4-off roster.

Working closely with operations, maintenance teams, contractors and technical specialists, you will:


* Lead the planning and execution of preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance for electrical equipment and systems.


* Scope and coordinate major overhauls, including labour, materials, procedures, work packs and project schedules in line with Reliability Excellence standards.


* Provide direction, support and technical guidance to Alcoa employees and contractors undertaking planned and unplanned maintenance.


* Apply advanced fault-finding and problem-solving skills to diagnose equipment issues, improve performance and reduce downtime.


* Manage maintenance budgets, forecasts, purchase orders and planned costs while supporting effective spare-parts and inventory control.


* Champion safe work practices, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across Powerhouse operations.

What you can bring to the role


* A degree in Electrical Engineering or a suitable electrical trade qualification.


* Demonstrated leadership and maintenance planning experience, with Powerhouse experience highly desirable.


* Strong knowledge of high-voltage systems and competency in HV switching.


* Experience working with gas systems is desirable; supervised gas fitter authorisation can be completed after appointment if not already held.


* Schedule 26 statutory supervisor accreditation, together with a strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
