Refrigeration Technician II
What You'll Do
Under general supervision, you will work independently to perform routine maintenance, repair, and adjustment of refrigeration systems throughout the warehouse, ensuring equipment operates correctly and safely.
Responsibilities include monitoring system performance, replacing components, conducting tests and calibrations, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining accurate preventive maintenance records.
Essential Functions
* Perform operation, repair, and adjustment of refrigeration systems throughout the warehouse.
* Monitor system performance and determine when systems are not operating correctly.
* Replace refrigeration system components following safe lockout/tagout procedures and program standards.
* Conduct basic pump out and evacuate refrigerant as necessary for valve replacement or repair.
* Perform routine maintenance on warehouse equipment in accordance with OSHA standards.
* Test, calibrate, and evaluate equipment performance and inspect completed work for compliance with specifications and safety standards.
* Inspect completed work for compliance to blueprints, specifications, and safety standards.
* Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records and ensure work areas are clean and organized.
* Work flexible shifts, if required, including on call.
* Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.
What Experience and Education You Need
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
* Minimum 2 years of industrial refrigeration maintenance experience OR minimum 3 years industrial maintenance experience plus relevant industry certification such as RETA, Garden City, or EPA Universal.
* Successful completion of assigned industrial refrigeration and maintenance courses required.
* Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair differing control systems including ALTA and Allen Bradley.
* Required to complete HAZMAT training and maintain certification.
What Could Set You Apart
* Experience working in a cold storage environment.
* Ammonia refrigeration maintenance experience.
* CARO and CIRO certification.
* Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose down to the component level on all refrigeration equipment.
* Ability to share knowledge and train less experienced technicians.
* Experience using Oracle Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Physical Requirements
* Able to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures of minus 45 (-45) degrees Fahrenheit (-43 degrees Celsius) and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold and precipitation).
* Able to work at heights in excess of 30 ft.
(9 meters) and access elevated platforms, catwalks, and roofs.
* Able to work in confined areas.
* Able to climb ladders and stairs.
* Able frequently to stand, walk, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
