Medical Assistant
MEDICAL ASSISTANT This position provides support and care to the Colorado Springs Pregnancy Center (CSPC) patients and maintains professional standards of care.
We seek a professional who is compassionate and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
The Medical Assistant assumes a supportive role and has responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team, the patient, and the patients family as indicated.
This role will perform a variety of clinical tasks as directed by an authorized healthcare provider, as well as assist with front desk duties and scheduling of patient appointments.
RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare pre-visit planning and post-visit follow-upsTake and record vital signsPrepare patient for examinationAssist with physical exam as necessaryCollect and prepare laboratory specimensPerform basic laboratory tests, to include venipuncture procedure; thus, having phlebotomy skills is a must.Perform STI appointments - labs, education, treatment (ability to administer IM medication) and follow-up with patientsMaintain accurate patient records and update medical historyMaintain exam room set up, clean, and supplies restockedMaintain and promote clinic cleanliness and safety as stated in the Policies and ProceduresTelephone prescriptions per protocol of existing treatment plansParticipate in staff development events and volunteer in-servicesParticipation by all staff is required at Life Networks major eventsAdditional duties as assigned EXPERIENCE Minimum 2 years experience in clinical settingTranscript of completion of medical assistant specialty training at a certified or accredited trade/ technical schoolPhlebotomy trainedSpanish speaking a plus QUALIFICATIONS Strong advocate for sanctity of life issuesPossesses Christian testimony with evidence of Christian maturity in personal and professional lifeActive commitment in a local churchA passion for the ministry accomplished through Life Network and a heart for reaching the lost of our community/world with the GospelDemonstrates qualities of initiative, teamwork, and goal orientatedDemonstrates outstanding administrative and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize tasks with strong attention to detailExceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, with a high degree of professionalism and maturityTeachable spirit and functions well in a team environmentComputer skills in Microsoft Office applications and internet savvyAptitude to learn software programs and systems PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periodsFrequent bending, reaching, and fine motor tasks (e.g., venipuncture, handling specimens and equipment)Ability to occasionally lift up to 2530 lbs.Visual, hearing, and verbal ability sufficient to communicate with patients and staff and to read clinical information accuratelyAbility to follow universal precautions when working with patients and handling specimens CLASS...
