Work You'll Do

As a Project Lead Integration Engineer II, you will provide political-military analysis, policy support, engagement planning, and senior-leader staff support.

The position supports the development of analysis, recommendations, background materials, and coordination products related to U.S.

policy, defense posture, partner relationships, and regional political-military developments.

The Specialist's regional portfolio focuses on Southeast Asia, including Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.

The role operates at the intersection of strategic planning, defense policy, security cooperation, senior leader engagement, and interagency coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Southeast Asia Political-Military Analysis and Policy Support


* Conduct research and analysis on political, military, diplomatic, economic, and security developments affecting Southeast Asia and U.S.

regional interests.


* Monitor developments related to partner defense policy, military modernization, maritime security, regional competition, transnational threats, disaster response, and other issues relevant to U.S.

PACOM priorities.


* Assess the implications of regional events, leadership changes, elections, policy announcements, security incidents, exercises, and emerging crises for U.S.

policy, defense posture, and partner relationships.


* Develop concise assessments that identify key facts, strategic implications, risks, opportunities, assumptions, and recommended courses of action.


* Support the development and maintenance of country-specific and regional policy materials, planning assumptions, engagement objectives, and decision-support tools.


* Identify emerging issues requiring senior-level awareness, policy coordination, or additional analysis.


* Ensure analyses reflect approved guidance, available intelligence and open-source information, stakeholder perspectives, and appropriate classification requirements.

Senior Leader Decision Support and Staff Product Development


* Draft, coordinate, edit, and quality-control senior-leader-ready products related to policy and engagement activities.


* Prepare briefing slides, executive summaries, information papers, decision memoranda, background papers, talking points, country overviews, meeting read-aheads, and recurring reports.


* Develop trip books and visit-support materials for senior military and civilian leaders.
