INVISTA Maintenance team is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to support the repair, maintenance, and fabrication of plant equipment and components at their site in Victoria, Texas.

In this role, you will perform welding, fitting, and fabrication work in both shop and field environments while contributing to the site's long-term equipment reliability.

Our Team

This role is part of our Shops & Services organization, which includes machine shop, welding shop, relief valve shop, and control valve shop operations.

Team members work closely together to provide repair, maintenance, and fabrication services for plant equipment and components.

The work environment is highly collaborative and requires individuals who can work independently, contribute to team-based maintenance activities, and adapt to changing business needs.

What You Will Do In Your Role



* Perform welding, fitting, and fabrication work in both shop and field environments based on site needs


* Perform stick, MIG, and TIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and specialty metals


* Read and develop field sketches and isometric drawings, complete fabrication layouts, and execute fabrication and welding activities in accordance with applicable piping codes


* Inspect damaged equipment and piping, develop repair scopes, and execute repairs on piping, structural components, tanks, and vessels


* Estimate the resources and time needed to complete fabrication projects


* Support work planning, material coordination, scheduling, and customer communication


* Coordinate work with operations, field mechanics, and other crafts to complete jobs safely and efficiently


* Proactively identify and implement improvements to the work backlog, processes, practices, shop tools, and procedures


* Maintain shop equipment, complete required progression activities, and identify productive work when assigned jobs are complete


* Work with vendors to build effective working relationships and create value for the site

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)



* Industrial or manufacturing experience in welding or fabrication


* Experience reading isometric drawings and fabricating, fitting, or welding work in accordance with applicable piping codes


* Experience operating shop equipment such as saws and hoists

Physical Requirements


* Availability to work scheduled or unscheduled hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.

Extended turnaround schedules may be required.


* Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, goggles, hard hats, flame-resistant clothing, gloves, safety boots, and respiratory protection


* Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds


* Ability to work in hot, cold, and inclement weather conditions


* Ability to climb stairs, ladders, vessel and column ladders, and ladders associated with scaffolding
