Structural Engineer - Entry-level Bridge Design

GPI is seeking a motivatedEntry-Level Bridge Engineer to join our transportation team and contribute to the design, inspection, and rehabilitation of bridges and other transportation structures.

In this role, you'll work alongside experienced engineers on a wide variety of projects, gaining hands-on experience in bridge analysis, structural design, load ratings, condition assessments, and construction support.

You'll have the opportunity to participate in field inspections, develop engineering plans and calculations, and learn the technical and project management skills necessary to become a successful bridge engineer.

For more information, visit: www.gpinet.com Responsibilities: Assist in the structural analysis and design of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and other transportation-related structures.Perform engineering calculations and develop design plans, specifications, and construction documents under the guidance of senior engineers.Support bridge inspections and condition assessments in accordance with state and federal requirements.Participate in field investigations, data collection, and construction site visits.Assist with load ratings, rehabilitation studies, and bridge replacement projects.Utilize engineering software to prepare designs, models, and technical reports.Coordinate with project managers, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.Review shop drawings, construction submittals, and inspection reports.Support the preparation of permit applications and engineering studies.Maintain project documentation and assist with schedule and budget tracking.Ensure compliance with applicable codes, design standards, and quality control procedures.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural or transportation focus from an ABET-accredited program.Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire preferred.Internship or co-op experience in structural, bridge, or transportation engineering is a plus.Basic understanding of structural analysis and bridge design principles.Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and transportation engineering standards preferred.Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenBridge, LEAP Bridge, SAP2000, or similar engineering software is a plus.Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.Willingness to perform field inspections, including climbing ladders, wa...
