Financial Analyst, External Reporting
Job Description
As a Financial Analyst, External Reporting, you will be a key member of the External Reporting team, helping with financial reporting, period close processes, and budgeting and forecasting.
You'll support and drive various business projects and objectives, ensuring the development and adherence to internal control policies and procedures.
Your contributions will be vital in achieving the organization's financial goals and maintaining robust financial controls.
Responsibilities
* Support Financial Reporting: You will assist in preparing team deliverables, including both external and internal financial reports, and manage activities related to the period close process.
* Prepare Journal Entries: Using your strong accounting skills and data analysis techniques, you will prepare journal entries to ensure financial reporting aligns with GAAP and company policies.
* Reconcile and Analyze Accounts: You will reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze account activity for compliance with GAAP and company policies.
You will also analyze P&L activity to identify the root causes of variances to budget/forecast and highlight trends, communicating your findings to the Senior Financial Analyst.
* Perform Ad Hoc Analyses: You will complete ad hoc analyses, including data extraction and manipulation, as requested, providing valuable insights to support decision-making.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
* Education: You hold a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
* Experience: You have 1-2 years in accounting, finance, or auditing (internship experience acceptable)
* Tech Savvy: You have advanced proficieny in MS Excel
* Detail-Oriented & Organized: You have exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: You have strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
You'll Go The Extra Mile If You Have:
* Education: Master's degree or MBA, or CPA certification
* Experience: You have experience in PeopleSoft/Oracle financial systems
