OI Facilities Maintenance Specialist IV
Primary Function The Facilities Maintenance Specialist IV will perform advanced facilities maintenance activities and provide technical leadership through the completion of complex maintenance functions, troubleshooting, project execution, and mentoring of lower-level Specialists.
This role requires advanced technical knowledge, independent decision-making, and licensed expertise in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC systems.
Essential Duties
Advanced Facility Maintenance
* Perform advanced troubleshooting, repairs, installation, and preventative maintenance activities across facility systems, including:
*
+ Electrical systems, controls, and equipment troubleshooting and repairs
+ HVAC systems, adjustments, repairs, and diagnostics
+ Carpentry repairs, construction, and facility modifications
+ Plumbing repairs and installation
+ Equipment preventative maintenance and repairs
+ Security systems and fire control monitoring, troubleshooting, and minor repairs
+ Janitorial and general facility support duties as needed
* Diagnose complex facility maintenance issues and determine appropriate repair solutions with minimal supervision
* Perform specialized maintenance activities requiring advanced technical knowledge, certifications, and licensing
* Coordinate and complete facility improvement projects from planning through completion
Technical Expertise
* Serve as a technical resource for Facilities Maintenance Technicians I, II, and III by providing guidance on complex repairs, troubleshooting methods, and maintenance procedures
* Maintain working knowledge of electrical and plumbing codes, HVAC standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines
* Perform licensed work in at least one of the following: plumbing, electrical or HVAC within the scope of applicable state and local requirements
* Assist with evaluating equipment performance, recommending repairs, and identifying opportunities for improved reliability and efficiency
Safety Mentor
* Serve as a safety mentor and technical resource to new and existing Facilities Maintenance Specialists
* Promote a strong safety culture by reinforcing safe work practices, proper use of tools and equipment, and compliance with company safety standards
* Provide coaching and guidance to technicians regarding safe work methods and hazard awareness
Leadership
* Provide leadership support to the maintenance team and serve as a backup resource for the Maintenance Supervisor when unavailable
* Lead maintenance projects from initiation through completion, including planning, coordination, execution, and follow-up
* Provide direction and assistance to lower-level technicians on complex maintenance activities
