OUTREACH CAREER ADVISOR - CAREER IMPACT ACADEMY
Education: Outreach Career Advisor must have a Bachelors Degree in any field Qualifications: Must possess a valid drivers license and maintain proof of insurance.
Minimum five years professional work experience.
Candidates must be willing to complete the Career Advisor training provided by the North Dakota Department of CTE within the first two years of employment.
Must have or be eligible for a North Dakota teaching license or be able to be alternatively certified through provided Career Advisor Training.
Job Summary: The role of the Outreach Career Advisor is to deliver and support the Career Education program that educates students on making their career choices.
The Career Advisor also provides support for the Career Education curriculum in collaboration with Middle and High School Career Advisors, Work-Based Learning Coordinator, Career Impact Academy (CIA) staff and member schools staff.
They will provide organizational leadership, develop and implement programs, and continually upgrade the career education curriculum.
The Career Advisor will play an essential role within all career development activities and career education special events, including but not limited to the portfolio process, mentorship programs, and career fairs.
The Career Advisor is a valued and contributing member of the Career Development Program of the CIA.
The Career Advisor position is funded by the Career and Technical Education Department and will be based out of the CIA.
This position will regularly travel to CIA member schools including: Central Valley, Hatton, Hillsboro, Larimore, May-Port CG, Northwood, and Thompson.
Outreach travel to these schools will be reimbursed in accordance with district policy.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: CIA member schools Outreach & Career Development Support Serve as a liaison between the CIA and member schools to support career education and career development initiatives for students in grades 712.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with school counselors, administrators, teachers, students, industry partners, and community organizations to expand career exploration opportunities and workforce connections.
Provide ongoing support to CIA member schools throughout the school year through regular school visits, counselor and student check-ins, material delivery, and coordination of career development resources and opportunities.
Support student awareness of career pathways, CIA programs, postsecondary options, and work-based learning opportunities.
Coordinate and support career exploration activities including career presentations, career fairs, job shadows, industry tours, hands-on experiences, and career awareness events.
Provide career development lesson materials, resources, and implementation support for grades 712 in collaboration with school staff and counselors.
