Regional Warehouse Maintenance Electrician
Purpose
The Regional Warehouse Maintenance Electrician role provides multi-craft maintenance support across multiple regional warehouse facilities, serving as the regional electrical specialist while also maintaining warehouse machinery, material handling equipment, and building systems.
This key role performs preventive and corrective maintenance, electrical troubleshooting and repair, and coordinates facility support to promote safe, reliable operations, standardization, code compliance, and minimal operational downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Equipment Uptime & Mechanical Reliability (35%)
Serve as the primary technical resource for the uptime and reliable operation of warehouse machinery and material handling equipment across all assigned facilities.
* Routine Upkeep: Perform and coordinate preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on conveyors, dock equipment, lifts, and other warehouse machinery to keep operations running with minimal downtime.
* Rapid Response: Diagnose and resolve equipment and mechanical failures quickly to restore production.
Coordinate parts and vendors and, when necessary, implement only approved, documented interim measures that preserve required guarding, interlocks, energy-control procedures, and electrical-safety protections.
Electrical Systems Specialty (30%)
Apply specialized electrical expertise to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building electrical systems, motor controls, and equipment power across the network.
* Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair electrical faults involving power distribution, motor controls, conveyor drives, lighting, and automated material handling equipment, and provide technical guidance to site teams and qualified contractors as needed.
* Installation & Modification: Install and modify wiring, conduit, panels, disconnects, sensors, and control systems to support equipment repairs, upgrades, and facility needs.
* Code Compliance: Perform electrical work only within the scope authorized by applicable law, required licensure, and the company electrical safety program, and in accordance with the NEC, locally adopted codes, and corporate engineering standards.
Regional Travel & Multi-Site Support (20%)
Provide hands-on maintenance and electrical support across the regional warehouse network through periodic, demand-driven travel.
* Travel Schedule: Travel to support network facilities approximately 12 weeks per year, averaging about one week per month.
Scheduling is variable and driven by need (for example, two weeks in one month and none the next).
* Vendor & Team Coordination: Work alongside local maintenance staff and outside contractors to complete repairs, preventive maintenance, and projects safely, on budget, and on schedule.
Safety, Compliance & Documentation (15%)
Ensure all maintenance and electrical work is performed safely, in compliance with applicable standards, and properly documented.
