Manager, Regional Safety
What You'll Do
You will oversee the development, maintenance, and review of corporate health and safety programs to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
You will manage strategic reviews, set objectives, and drive continuous improvement in health and safety performance across multiple sites, including tracking metrics and managing regulatory reporting.
You will be responsible for supporting and executing processes to reduce injury rates, conducting audits, and representing the company in health and safety affairs, with travel required.
Essential Functions
* Develop, maintain, and review corporate health and safety programs to ensure compliance with current and future legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
* Manage regular strategic reviews of environmental health and safety and provide objectives and programs to improve performance and defend against future liabilities.
* Provide leadership and direction to site management teams and hold managers and supervisors accountable for safety performance.
* Track metrics and drive health and safety improvement and performance across the organization.
* Support and execute processes to reduce associate injury and lost time rates and proactively manage workers' compensation cases.
* Conduct annual safety management systems audits and manage all health and safety regulatory reporting requirements.
* Represent the company on health and safety affairs with relevant external parties and assist with contractor qualification for major projects.
What Experience and Education You Need
* Bachelor's degree required in Safety Science, Safety Engineering, Safety Management, Risk Management, or Physical Sciences.
* Minimum 12 years of experience required in managing safety programs.
* Multi-site safety management experience required.
* Knowledge of safety training management and state/federal standards and regulations required.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project required.
What Could Set You Apart
* Experience with development and management of safety systems across multiple locations preferred.
* Prior or current CDL a plus
* ELD experience
* Effective software skills and computer proficiency
Physical Requirements
* Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, reaching, and/or bending.
* Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work, including the operation of computers, telephones, and similar equipment.
* Requires ability to comprehend and communicate with others, verbally and/or in writing.
* May require travel by automobile and airplane for business.
* May require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing.
* May require the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
