Job Title: Senior Trainer , Lighting Inspection
Position Overview: The Senior Trainer, Lighting Inspection is responsible for developing, delivering, and continuously improving technical training for area lighting inspection, maintenance, safety practices, field documentation, and quality standards.
This role provides advanced field coaching and classroom instruction to ensure technicians and inspection personnel can safely evaluate client assets, identify deficiencies, follow customer requirements, and perform work in alignment with company procedures, regulatory expectations, and operational best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Area Lighting Field Assessments:
• Perform field assessments of area lighting assets, including poles, luminaires, brackets, asset conditions, controls, foundations, access points, and related equipment.
• Verify that inspection, documentation, and maintenance activities comply with customer specifications, company standards, safety requirements, and applicable utility procedures.
• Identify recurring field issues, training gaps, and process improvement opportunities, and recommend corrective actions to improve quality, safety, and productivity.
Develop Area Lighting Training Materials:
• Collaborate with operations leaders, safety teams, quality personnel, and subject matter experts to develop training content for area lighting inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Create presentations, field guides, checklists, practical exercises, assessments, and other resources to support consistent technical training across crews and regions.
• Update training materials to reflect changes in customer requirements, company procedures, equipment, technology, safety practices, and regulatory guidance.
Facilitate Technical Training Sessions:
• Plan and deliver classroom, virtual, and hands-on field training for area lighting personnel, including new hires, existing technicians, inspectors, and crew leads.
• Demonstrate proper methods for asset inspection, defect identification, lighting component recognition, field documentation, work verification, and safe job-site practices.
• Evaluate trainee performance through observations, practical exercises, knowledge checks, and field ride-alongs, providing clear feedback and coaching to support skill development.
• Maintain accurate records of trainee progress, training completion, competency development, and follow-up coaching needs to support accountability and continuous improvement.
Provide Senior-Level Mentorship and Field Support:
• Serve as a senior technical resource and mentor for area lighting inspectors, and trainers, reinforcing safe work practices and quality expectations.
• Support field teams by answering technical questions, clarifying procedures, helping resolve documentation issues, and coaching consistent execution of customer and company requirements.
