Job Description:

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking an experienced Thermal Engineer with testing focus to lead the validation and characterization of cooling solutions for next-generation high-density server, networking, and data center platforms.

This role places strong emphasis on hands-on thermal testing, lab execution, and data-driven validation, ensuring solutions meet HPE's stringent performance, reliability, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in thermal test methodologies, instrumentation, and system-level validation, and thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional engineering environment

This role will be based in our Sunnyvale, CA office five days a week.

Key Responsibilities


* Perform hands-on thermal testing including system setup, instrumentation, validation, and troubleshooting in lab environments


* Design and implement robust test setups using thermocouples, RTDs, IR thermography, and data acquisition systems


* Measure and analyze temperature profiles, airflow, and pressure drop across complex electronic systems


* Conduct thermal characterization and validation of cooling solutions including heat sinks, heat pipes, vapor chambers, fans, and liquid cooling components


* Execute system-level airflow and thermal performance testing to verify compliance with design specifications


* Identify thermal risks, perform root cause analysis, and drive design improvements with cross-functional teams


* Lead development and execution of thermal test strategies and plans for HPE server and networking platforms


* Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and system engineers to ensure solutions meet HPE platform requirements and reliability standards


* Support platform bring-up, qualification testing, and reliability validation activities

Required Qualifications


* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME required) or related field


* 10+ years of engineering experience, including at least 7 years in thermal testing/validation of electronic systems
