Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Position Overview

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator supports the execution of strategic marketing, communications, and storytelling initiatives that strengthen brand awareness, stakeholder engagement, student recruitment, and organizational impact across KIPP Capital Region.

This role provides administrative, project management, and content creation support to the Director of Communication and Organizational Impact while assisting with digital communications, social media, marketing campaigns, and internal and external communications efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities

Communications & Storytelling


* Write and support the development of high-quality, compelling long-form and short-form content that communicates stories from the KIPP community to inspire students, families, staff, donors, and the broader public.


* Develop and publish ongoing internal and external stories that highlight the achievements, culture, and impact of KIPP Capital Region schools and communities.


* Support the creation and execution of annual communications plans and monthly content calendars aligned to organizational priorities and strategic initiatives.


* Gather in-person content for digital storytelling, including interviews, quotes, photos, and videos featuring students, families, teachers, and staff.


* Draft and distribute communication materials, including newsletters, press releases, blogs, talking points, feature stories, op-eds, and website content.


* Serve as a central point of coordination for internal and external communications across schools and regional teams.


* Assist in developing proactive messaging strategies that anticipate stakeholder needs and strengthen community trust and engagement.


* Support emergency and crisis communication efforts by helping ensure messaging is timely, clear, and aligned with organizational protocols.


* Support and execute donor engagement through communications such as frequent touch points, thank you letters and development tool kits and campaigns
