Position: Occupational Therapist

Location: Magnolia Post Acute Care in East County San Diego

Starting Pay: Up to $55/hr DOE

What we're looking for:

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing rehabilitative therapy to patients upon referral for cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders following all regulatory and clinical practice requirements.

This includes recovery, improvement in function and when possible, a return to a prior level of functioning.

Clinical documentation will describe objective measures and justification for continued or discontinued services.

This position reports to the Director of Rehabilitation Services.

Duties and Responsibilities:


* All duties and responsibilities shall be performed as set forth in our established policies and procedures.


* Adheres to and assures compliance with Code of Conduct, facility policies and procedures and all applicable rules, regulations and standards as promulgated by Federal, State, and accrediting agencies or regulating bodies.

This includes, but is not limited to, Department of Health, Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services, and other applicable regulatory agencies.


* Completion of required compliance training and processes


* Effectively screens/evaluates patients and/ with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders and develops appropriate plan of care following all regulatory and clinical practice standards.


* Utilizes standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.


* Provides rehabilitative, skilled and medically necessary treatment intervention to patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.


* Administers various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan including but not limited to: ADL retraining; therapeutic activities; therapeutic exercises; modalities; use of supportive and assistive devices; etc.


* Assesses patient's progress and adjust treatments accordingly in the clinical record per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.


* Evaluates treatment outcomes for effectiveness.

Services are modified in relation to patient evaluation and referrals are made in relation to outcomes.
