Production Planner/Scheduler I

Job Summary:

The Production Planner Scheduler I performs analysis of MRP outputs and required actions related to production orders and asset movement through production.

This role ensures timely release, maintenance, and accuracy of production orders and supports coordinated manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Monitor and report on aging production orders in Work in Process (WIP).
• Track and communicate material shortages impacting WIP and production order release.
• Review planned orders due for release and ensure timely execution.
• Release production orders as scheduled, ensuring no pending material shortages.
• Maintain accuracy and completeness of production order documentation prior to kitting.
• Perform ongoing maintenance of open production orders.
• Review and respond to MRP signals for manufactured items, ensuring prompt action.
• Monitor second-issue material movements to WIP.
• Support daily shortage meetings and other production coordination activities.
• Participate in periodic WIP floor audits and reconciliation efforts.
• Support warehouse inventory accuracy counts and associated reconciliations.
• Prioritize inbound materials based on MRP requirements.
• Prepare and send material kits to support external production orders as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Authorities:
• Execute all MRP-generated messages, including production order releases, rescheduling, and cancellations.
• Update and maintain production orders, including red-line changes.
• Manually firm planned production orders as needed to balance production capacity.
• Maintain item planning and ordering data.

Education, Experience/Knowledge & License/Certification

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• APICS CPIM certification preferred.
• 0-2 years of functional experience in a related role.
• 0-2 years of experience within a relevant industry environment.
• Experience working in a warehouse setting.
• Knowledge of electronic component manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with cloud-based ERP systems in a production-order environment preferred.
• Ability to work with various software applications as required.

Travel/Physical Requirements

• Work is usually conducted in an office and warehouse environment
