Automation and Controls Engineer

Join our dynamic team as 1st Shift, Automation and Controls Engineer, in our Oxford O faclity.

What will you do?


* Design, develop, and modify automation and control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes


* Program and maintain PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks (new installations and upgrades)


* Diagnose and resolve control system issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability


* Support commissioning, startup, and validation of new equipment and production lines


* Develop and maintain electrical schematics, I/O lists, and control documentation


* Implement process improvements focused on safety, quality, throughput, and cost reduction


* Provide on-site technical support during production issues, breakdowns, and planned maintenance


* Collaborate with mechanical, process, and quality engineers to integrate automation solutions


* Ensure control systems comply with applicable safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements


* Train maintenance and operations personnel on control systems and automation best practices


* Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, or TPM

Who will you report to? Methods & Maintenance Manager

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?


* Bachelor's degree in electrical, Computer, Robotics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.


* 5+ years of experience in automation and manufacturing industry.


* Experience with common PLC platforms (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or equivalent)


* HMI/SCADA development and troubleshooting experience


* Familiarity with industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, DeviceNet, etc.)


* Robotics integration and programming experience


* Vision systems, motion control, and servo systems knowledge
