Medical Records Tech II-Riverside (MH-Southwest Detention Center)

The County of Riverside - RUHS - Correctional Health System seeks to fill a Medical Records Technician II for the Southwest Detention Center located in Murrieta, CA.

Under general supervision, abstracts and provides information from patient medical or mental health and vital records in response to authorized requests from agencies, hospitals, mortuaries, and individuals; assembles medical or mental health and vital records and evaluates them for completeness; works with professional medical personnel to ensure completeness and timeliness of entries in patient medical and vital records; performs other related duties as required.

The Medical Records Technician II is the first professional level classification in the Medical Records Technician series and reports to the Supervising Medical Records Technician.

Incumbents are assigned duties that require routine abstracting of information from medical or mental health and vital records, or which require assembly, evaluation and quality control of patient medical/mental health and vital records.

Advancement to the next level is obtained by competitive selection through an open recruitment.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable team member to support daily office operations, including processing court and minute orders, archiving psychiatric and patient records, and organizing and scanning documents into our electronic records system.

This role also provides general administrative support to ensure smooth day-to-day workflow.

Ideal candidates have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with electronic medical records systems; bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.

A valid California driver's license may be required, as occasional driving may be needed to attend program-related trainings.

Applicants must be able to pass a Sheriff's background check and should be comfortable assisting with organizing materials and occasionally lifting standard office supplies or equipment.

Work Schedule: To be discussed during the interview; tentative 9/80 schedule, 7:00 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m., with every other Friday off.
