The Federal Reserve Bank of St.

Louis is recruiting for its 2026 Student Board of Directors Summer Internship.

There are multiple postings covering our various opportunities; you may apply to more than one posting or be interested in more than one of the opportunities below.

Our summer internships provide talented students an opportunity to gain valuable experience by working on projects that support our business areas; and ultimately impact the national economy.
Our intern program also allows insight into the possible future entry-level positions and be exposed to several areas across the division and bank.
Regardless of which internship, all our interns experience the following:
• Networking within the Bank and across the Federal Reserve System
• Various events ranging from Leadership Q&As to development-oriented sessions and much more
• Dedicated intern mentor program
• Exposure to Bank operations and mission driven work

Financial Management: This SBOD intern will help in our vendor management space to ensure we are assessing 3rd party risk according to the compliance set forth by System Procurement.

They will also provide support to multiple category managers and their procurement work.

Risk Management: Work on real projects that help the bank prepare for emergencies..

Assisting with performance metrics, quarterly reporting.

Developing emergency backup plans through partnering with team leaders, creating evacuation materials, and organizing a Bank-wide Preparedness Month.

Help facilitate tabletop exercises where teams practice responding to disaster scenarios.

Economic Education: The high school summer intern will assist with the continued maturation and organization of materials on FRE.org. Key projects may involve transitioning older teacher edition formats to our new, more teacher-friendly structure and conducting quality assurance reviews for professional development resources.

Other smaller projects may include: reviewing glossary terms and links, verifying links within some of our most popular resources, and creating shareable PDF materials for outreach efforts.
