Job Purpose

As an Insurance Authorization Clerk, you play an important role in supporting our center's admission process.

You help ensure a smooth transition for every referral by securing timely insurance verifications and authorizations.

Your work strengthens our partnerships, supports our care teams, and helps patients receive the services they need without delay.

Schedule : Monday-Friday

Status: Full Time

Pay : Based on experience

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Obtain insurance authorizations for NHC Skilled Nursing Facilities, Supporting the Metro Region Medicaid Centers

Verify insurance benefits for incoming referrals.

Build and maintain positive relationships with partners, centers, referral sources, and insurance companies.

Track and report monthly authorizations obtained for admissions.

Collaborate with centers, insurance companies, and referral sources to remove referral or admission barriers (preferred, not required).

Provide exceptional customer service to Healthcare Centers, insurance companies, and all referral sources.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent computer skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to exercise independent judgment where procedures cannot be standardized.

Prior healthcare experience.

Prior health care insurance - preferred.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or related field preferred.

Thorough knowledge of funding resources such as Medicare, Managed Care, Single Case Agreements, Scholarships, and other private insurances.
