Senior Merchandising Analyst (stocking Strategy)

Job Description

Senior Merchandising Analysts are internal consultants for the Merchandising department.

They manage the analytic data for the business decision processes and provide a statistical and financial foundation for merchandising decisions regarding product placement.

Responsibilities

Involved in cross-functional teams developing strategic planning and specific corporate initiatives.

Must be a catalyst for change and drive process improvement.

Some of the responsibilities of the position are:


* Provide advanced analytical support for cross-functional teams to coordinate processes that would increase our assortment in stores (SATs', hubs, and mega hubs) for various vehicle platforms activities
+ Review, validate, and manipulate large-scale data including sales, lookups, catalog and stocking history
+ Understand the demand for applications and catalog of the related vehicle platforms and help determine the right applications for the right platforms in the right location
+ Identify stocking opportunities for stores and classify them as short term and long term action plans (QAs, VDP and NYA pools)
o Work with Content team and other business partners for determining and prioritizing NYA opportunities based on external part numbers and projected fitment data
+ Engage with business partners inside and outside the team to coordinate the work for preparing the items that can be placed in the pipeline for
o stocking immediately via Dynamics Adds
o identifying the VDP items as next stage adds to mega hubs and hubs
+ Engage with Brazil team to help with the development of store-specific assortment for Brazil business
+ Help with the expansion of Integrated Business Solutions (also known as OPC)


* Work directly with CMs/Directors/VPs to design analysis and address needs on strategic projects.

Support departmental and executive decision making that cross organizational boundaries

Qualifications



* Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent in Mathematics/Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related analytical field.


* 3 years of experience in an analytical role with sufficient experience to demonstrate a thorough understanding of retailing.


* Proficient in SAS (Base, SQL, Macro), Big Query, Python, and Linux commands.


* Must be a self-starter and motivated to complete projects promptly and accurately.


* Proficiency in Excel and excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effectively collaborating with colleagues and clients.
