Molex is growing in the Optical Solutions Business Unit and is looking for a growth-minded person to join our team as a Director of Global Division Materials.

The Global Division Materials Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the continuity of supply and delivering year-over-year cost savings across critical electronics categories.

This role will lead sourcing efforts and supplier strategies for components such as Fiber Optic Connectors and Adapters, cable assemblies and optical flex circuits - balancing global strategy with regional execution.

The ideal candidate is a supply chain leader with deep sourcing expertise, proactive risk management capabilities, and a strong track record in cost optimization.

What You Will Do

Continuity of Supply


* Develop and implement risk mitigation plans for high-risk components, including dual sourcing, safety stock strategy, and supplier diversification.


* Monitor global supply constraints, lead time fluctuations, and geopolitical risks affecting electronics categories.


* Act as the escalation point for supply disruptions; collaborate with manufacturing, planning, and engineering to implement corrective actions.


* Establish and manage long-term agreements (LTAs) and consignment/VMI programs to ensure uninterrupted material availability.

Cost Optimization


* Drive sourcing initiatives that deliver measurable cost savings through negotiations, value engineering, supplier consolidation, and competitive bidding.


* Perform detailed cost breakdowns and TCO (total cost of ownership) analyses to identify and execute savings opportunities.


* Partner with R&D/Engineering to influence design for cost and support alternative component qualification.

Material Sourcing & Procurement



* Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials and components.


* Request quotes (RFQs), negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms.


* Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure materials meet specifications.


* Monitor supplier performance and escalating issues as needed.

Part Number Management


* Create and maintain part numbers in ERP or MRP systems.


* Ensure accurate item master data, including descriptions, units of measure, lead times, and supplier associations.


* Work with engineering to validate part specifications and alternate sources.

Vendor Setup & Management


* Coordinate the setting up of new suppliers in procurement and ERP systems.


* Collect and validate vendor documentation (W-9, payment terms, banking info, certifications).
