Shift Foreman

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Operations Shift Foreman to oversee and manage refinery operations during their assigned shift.

The Shift Foreman will ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of refinery equipment, processes, and personnel.

This role is critical in coordinating activities between various operational areas and ensuring that all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements are always met.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in refinery operations, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Strong communication skills are essential for relaying information between departments and ensuring teams have what they need to do their jobs effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safety


* Ensure that units are operated safely and employees comply with all safety procedures and standards.


* Ensure all incidents and near misses are reported


* Participate in incident investigations


* Read and sign off on all MOCs on the first shift back


* Help all operators review and sign off on MOCs


* On-site Incident Command during off-hours major incidents

Training


* Help evaluate operator performance.

Reward success and correct deficiencies


* Be proficient with the processes in all departments.


* Perform Red Tag drills with operators


* Annual Incident Command Training

Unit Operations


* Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues


* Monitor unit performance


* Ensure the refinery is operating efficiently during off-hours


* Be an active participant and be proficient in unit start-ups and shut-downs


* Attend daily operations meetings.


* Implement refinery run plan as directed and ensure product specs are met.


* Sign permits.


* Ensure work is complete and equipment is returned to service.


* Submit and approve work orders.


* Communicate operation status and changes daily.


* Lead Start of Shift Orientation meetings


* Fill in for Unit Supervisors for Vacation/Sick Coverage

Education and Experience Requirements


* High School graduate.


* 10-15 years of experience in oil refinery operations.

Previous experience managing other operators is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements


* Excellent written and verbal communication skills required


* Must have a thorough understanding of the operation of refinery process units.

Including, but not limited to, distillation towers, reactors, heaters, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, and piping systems.


* Must be familiar with Excel, Wor,d and email programs.
