System Engineer

Schneider Electric is looking for a highly innovative and enthusiastic System Engineer to join our Industrial Automation R&D team on-site at our Andover, MA, location.

In this role, the individual will develop system tests for communications protocols, 5G and WiFi technology, and IoT (Internet of Things) enabled solutions in the industry sector.

They will work with multiple applications and execute automation within the projects as available.

The right candidate is one who performs productively in a fast-paced work environment and efficiently works on multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Development: Conduct automation and manual testing, including hands-on scripting and test execution for regression, installation, and performance.

Collaborate with team members to resolve defects and suggest improvements.

Maintain automation tools and testing procedures.

Track and report issues to developers, ensuring thorough project follow-through with project management skills.

Wireless Expertise: Working knowledge of wireless technologies like 5G and Wi-Fi.

Stay updated with the latest wireless standards and technologies.

Design and support secure and fault-tolerant internal and external wireless networks.

Use tools to evaluate, test, and tweak wireless products like routers, switches, hubs, bridges, and virtual private networks (VPNs).

Technical Documentation: Contributing to writing detailed test plans, test reports and internal requirements.

Debugging and Troubleshooting: Perform system-level testing, validation, and performance benchmarking.

Creates test reports and analyzes performance metrics.

Configure wireless devices and troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate effectively across departments to ensure coordination and support for Industrial Automation initiatives, such as Real-Time communications,5G, WiFi, and Edge.

Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), including daily standups and other agile ceremonies.

Innovation: Participate in innovative projects outside of day-to-day project execution.

Problem Solving: Demonstrate exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills for rapid troubleshooting and solution development.

Good Presentation skills: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts.

Who will you report to?

You will report to the R&D Engineering Manager.

This role is an onsite position.

You are required to report to the Andover, MA office 5 days a week.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?



* Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technology like wireless and/or embedded systems.


* Experience: At least 3+ years of experience in real-time communication technology.
