Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Plant Scheduler to join our Ashland Specialty ingredients G.P., business at our Hopewell, Virginia location.

This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Maintenance function.

This position will report to Maintenance Manager.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:


* Complete oversight for scheduling area maintenance work, including analysis to optimize manpower and implement schedules for area shutdown jobs.


* Ensure all work orders and preventative maintenance reports are pulled and reviewed with area owners to determine and prioritize the work to be completed.


* Reviews and develops compliance timelines based on preventive maintenance goals.


* Develop schedules for on-site contractor jobs.


* Work collectively with maintenance planners and site engineers.


* Ability to effectively solve problems and manage multiple priorities and programs.


* Supports a positive team environment where members participate, respect, and cooperate to achieve desired results.


* Attend departmental and safety meetings.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:


* High School Diploma and/or GED


* Minimum of 3 years' experience in facilities maintenance scheduling, in an industrial and/or manufacturing setting


* Proficient using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.


* Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with other departments, vendors, contractors, etc.

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:


* Associate's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.


* Experience working within a union environment.


* Knowledge of Maximo and Akwire software.


* Previous maintenance, manufacturing experience.


* Six Sigma, Lean, or relevant continuous improvement experience
