Job Description:
Abiomed, a Johnson and Johnson Company, is recruiting for a Software Test Engineer COOP, located in Danvers, MA.
We are seeking a motivated and versatile Co-op student for our Software Test Engineer role at Abiomed, starting in January 2025.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and gain hands-on experience in software testing, specifically using Cypress and other in-house tools for end-to-end testing.
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about ensuring high-quality software and eager to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
You’ll work alongside a diverse team of engineers, gaining hands-on experience with the latest technologies while solving meaningful challenges that directly influence our company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Test Automation: Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Cypress and other in-house tools for end-to-end testing of web applications.
* Test Planning: Collaborate with developers and QA team members to understand application requirements and design comprehensive test plans.
* Bug Identification: Identify, document, and track software defects and issues, and work closely with the development team to resolve them.
* Engage in Code Quality Assurance: Participate in code reviews and walkthroughs to ensure code quality and to align with industry standards.
* Test Execution: Perform manual and automated testing to ensure application functionality, performance, and security.
* Test Reporting: Generate and review test reports and provide insights and recommendations for improvements based on test results.
* Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of test processes and methodologies and stay up to date with the latest testing tools and techniques.
Qualifications
Education:
* Junior, Senior, or Grad student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
* Technical Skills: Familiarity with Cypress/Playwright/Selenium and JavaScript/Python for test automation.
