Additive Manufacturing Co-Op

We are looking for someone who is interested in gaining real-world experience in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:


* Drive Emerson wide projects from start to finish including project planning, prototype creation and component design ensuring engineering requirements are met for handoff to production.


* Determine which parts make sense to produce via additive manufacturing by looking at engineering and business constraints


* Assist with determining additional technologies or support systems that are needed to make additive manufacturing successful at Emerson


* Evaluate processes and systems for the efficient creation of parts via additive manufacturing


* Document lessons learned throughout the creation of parts being produced using L-PBF

For This Role, You Will Need:


* Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university


* Required Major(s): Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology or a related field


* General experience with additive manufacturing or 3D printing


* Previous experience with manufacturing, especially machining and welding technologies


* Good problem solving and analytical skills


* Excellent oral and written communication skills


* Excellent documentation and organization skills


* Ability to present across cross-functional teams


* Ability to work well with teams to solve complex problems


* Ability to work independently and proactively on given projects


* 3-D modeling design


* Additive manufacturing lab experience


* Commitment to full-time (40 hour) Fall (May 2025- December 2025) Co-op experience in Marshalltown, IA.


* Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:


* Experience with 3D CAD systems, Siemens NX or SolidWorks


* Additive manufacturing experience with Laser Powder Bed Fusion


* Experience with ASME 14.5, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications


* Material engineering experience


* Status: Junior or Senior status


* GPA: 2.5
