Procurement - Director Global Sourcing
Summary:
This position is responsible for developing and managing global supplier sourcing strategies for assigned commodities/categories to achieve cost savings and supplier performance targets.
Key responsibilities include cost management, strategic sourcing, risk mitigation, business process and technology development, supplier quality and development, and supplier relations.
The role involves collaboration with various departments such as operations, finance, and legal and continual embedding of the Company culture.
Primary accountabilities include creating and driving commodity sourcing strategies, managing strategic and tactical purchasing activities, defining performance metrics, coordinating with engineering and manufacturing changes, and improving sourcing cost management.
Job Duties:
* Create, maintain, and drive commodity sourcing strategies & leveraged savings projects
* Increasing long term supplier relationships & LTA penetration whilst mitigating concentration risk.
* Manage activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, controlling inventory, warehousing, or receiving.
* Define and deploy performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as product cost or quality.
* Lead the teams in the analysis of inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, and optimize customer service.
* Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes and predict effects on supply chain activities.
* Participate in the coordination of engineering & manufacturing changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow.
* Improve the process, teamwork, and credibility of Sourcing Cost Management Tracker’s effect on EBIT and Cash.
* Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows.
* Diagram supply chain models to help facilitate discussions with customers.
* Evaluate and select information or other technology solutions to improve tracking and reporting of materials or products distribution, storage, or inventory.
* Position supply base strategically (including LCC) around operations global footprint
* Reduce business risk and cost through increased supplier Long Term Agreements (T&C’s, terms, turns, etc.)
* Utilization of strategic supplier integrators to improve global spend visibility, generate savings through leverage, and reduce inventories.
* Use advanced supply planning methodologies to improve inventory turns – via use of advanced material management practices such as: consignment, Kanban, etc.
Qualifications:
* Undergraduate degree in a related field, MBA strongly preferred.
