Dietary Aide

Delhi Post Acute is seeking a motivated and reliable Dietary Aide to join our dedicated team.

As a Dietary Aide, you will assist with meal preparation, delivery, and kitchen sanitation.

You will play a vital role in ensuring residents receive nutritious and timely meals.

This role reports to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor and requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn food service routines quickly.

Key Responsibilities:


* Learn and follow food service routines quickly.


* Set up meal trays and assist with meal service to residents.


* Strip down returned trays and assist with washing dishes.


* Monitor and record chlorine concentration and water temperature for the dishwashing machine at the start of each shift.


* Operate the dishwasher and ensure cleanliness of all kitchen equipment.


* Prepare nourishments and snacks as directed.


* Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.


* Carry out trash and garbage, ensuring safe disposal.


* Organize and store groceries safely and cleanly.


* Clean work surfaces, refrigerators, and maintain a sanitary environment.


* Participate in ongoing training and orientation for dietary staff.


* Work in harmony with team members across departments.

Qualifications:


* High school diploma or equivalent required.


* Previous experience in a food service role is a plus, but not required.


* Ability to read and follow recipes, technical procedures, and safety guidelines.


* Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.


* Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.


* Must obtain and maintain a food handler's certificate.

Physical Demands:


* Frequent standing and walking.


* Occasional sitting and reaching with hands and arms.


* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.


* Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and pushing/pulling.


* Ability to work in various physical conditions, including lifting and cleaning.


* Good vision for close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

* The noise level is generally low to moderate.
