Position Summary:

The Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance and control of supplies and equipment, and for assigned clerical activities.

Duties:


* Manage inventory, place orders, scanning and tagging of all emergency department inventory.


* Process and track items for sterile processing


* Assists with entering orders/scripts into MVE


* Keeps Supply rooms and work areas neat and stocked with a variety of supplies.


* Promotes a sense of “teamwork” through demonstration of self-direction and self-motivation.

Solves problems independently or knows when to seek consultation


* Labels and track equipment in need of repair.


* Interacts with patients and other staff in a professional and respectful manner, which reflects the needs and concerns of the individual.

Consistently provides excellent customer service and makes patients feel welcome.

Maintains a positive attitude.

Uses communication devices appropriately.


* Reports delays in supply orders, safety and equipment problems, and malfunctioning or missing equipment.


* Follows established departmental policies and procedures for environmental safety and infection control.


* Understands organizational structure of Emergency Department routine, and adheres to department policies and procedures (i.e., dress code, attendance, cell phone use, food at desk etc.).

Education:


* High school diploma or G.E.D.

Experience:


* Previous experience in stocking and inventory management preferred.

Skills:


* ​Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

Customer service skills.

Familiarity with use of personal computer in a Windows environment preferred.

Starting at $18.00, and up to $27.00 based on experience
