Georgia-Pacific is seeking qualified professionals to consider for the Logistics/Automation Operations Manager position at our Palatka, Florida facility.

This position will report directly to the VP Mill Leader and be responsible for leadership of Logistics and Automation for entire mill.

Working closely with the Mill Manager/VP of Manufacturing and your peers you will utilize your gifts and talents in numerous ways to achieve results for the mill and gain valuable experience.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to: improve the manufacturing processes in the operations areas of the mill; own the logistics, automation, and support systems; and lead the operational team to be the best.

Our Team

The Palatka mill and its products are a critical part of GP's Consumer Products portfolio, including high-profile Angel Soft®, Quilted Northern®, Brawny®, and Sparkle® brands.

GP has invested heavily at Palatka in recent years to deliver competitive tissue and towel products including a new towel paper machine.

The mill also features two Kraft paper machines and recent investments in a state-of-the-art Daily Operations Center (DOC) - a singular control hub for our asset monitoring.

With more than 950 team members, the mill is highly strategic operation for GP and a foundational part of the local community and economy.

Located 45 minutes west of the beautiful beaches of St.

Augustine, the mill is nestled in outskirts of the growing city of Palatka.

What You Will Do


* Manage the overall Retail Warehousing, Transportation, and Automation of finished goods and raw material workflows.


* Managing and automating Manufacturing Execution Systems, Warehouse Management Systems, and Yard Management Systems.


* Maintain open communications with service groups (KBX, Spotting, Customer Service, converting, quality, planners) to ensure both internal and external customer needs are met.


* Direct logistics and automation resources in the completion of cycle counts, material movement, loading, and unloading of product to meet daily targets.
