Technical Manager III - Water

DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is actively seeking a Water/Wastewater Technical Manager, specialized in complex pumping, to join our team.

You'll be a part of our team of talented engineers working on a variety of water, wastewater, stormwater and municipal infrastructure projects that include planning, design, engineering and construction support, with a focus on pipelines, pump stations, metering/flow control facilities, storage tanks, utility relocations, stormwater systems, etc.

Tasks will include the following:
• Provide consultation to clients and develop effective engineered solutions to complex pumping environments for both drinking water and waste water systems.



* Review design calculations, drawings, and specifications for water distribution/transmission and wastewater conveyance systems (e.g.

pump stations, pipelines, storage tanks) and stormwater pumping systems.
• Research products and materials and conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design as it relates to water and wastewater conveyance systems.
• Lead a team of skilled professionals with preparation of technical memoranda, studies, engineering reports, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates, etc.
• Oversee in the development of hydraulic modeling of water and sewer systems.

• Assist with technical proposals during the pursuit of key projects.
• Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines (cost estimators, GIS, designers, surveyors, and other engineers).

• Client management/staff management responsibilities available for the ideal candidate, but not required.

• Work with junior Project Engineers and Managers who will assist you in the delivery of complex infrastructure projects.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/ Environmental Engineering or related engineering field.
• 15 years professional experience in the study, design, and construction administration of water and wastewater infrastructure (water and wastewater systems, pump stations, stormwater systems).
• PE certification with the availability to obtain reciprocity in North and South Carolina within 3 months.
• Be self-starter, versatile and interested in working on a variety of projects.
• Have excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Demonstrate proficiency in organization and presentation of documentation.
• Ability to mentor in AutoCAD and knowledge of Civil 3D.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint is required

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is 115- 185K.

This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
