Continuous Improvement Engineer

How You Will Make an Impact

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will support the Plant and Operations leadership to identify and improve the outcomes of manufacturing and operational processes to improve efficiencies, reduce cost and increase customer satisfaction.

The Nuts and Bolts


* Identify and facilitate process improvement projects to reduce lead-time, improve inventory turnover, scrap and rework, direct labor cost savings, equipment reliability


* Lead continuous improvement project teams (along with the CI Manager) and conduct training to drive cultural change through "learn by doing" exercises and workshops


* Conduct root cause analysis to determine metrics, troubleshoot manufacturing/ business and assembly issues, material flow, project plans, production capacity, and facility design


* Carry out advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping


* Drive value stream mapping to define "As-Is Analysis" and the transition to Future State


* Develop and conduct compliance audits, program evaluations and reviews to drive results with the fortitude to ensure change is permanent


* Establish a Standardized Work tool/process and launch with production supervisors and team members


* Support material flow improvements in scheduling (Kanban, sequencing, kitting) and material handling methods


* Support TPM and SMED tool deployment with workshop facilitation to improve machine uptime


* Establish and manage a 5S improvement plan and a layered process audit process


* Work with floor Supervisors & hourly Team Members to drive efficiency improvements that impact successful attainment of Corporate and Plant AIP's

Required Credentials


* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related) preferred


* Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a manufacturing environment


* Two (2) to three (3) years of documented LEAN experience, as well as formal LEAN principles training (with Kaizen facilitation)


* Ability to prepare and present data and processes to all audience levels


* Strong leadership skills - ability to work with and influence others in a fast paced environment


* Proficient with MS Office required - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
