Job Summary
Employee works under the general supervision of the Production Supervisor or Plant Manager on routine duties following standard policies and procedures.
Refers problems and questions to the Production Supervisor or Plant Manager.
Job Responsibilities
* Operates a packer machine to bag and prepare product
* Weighs bag to assure proper weight
* Prepares palletizer or packer machine for start up
* Completes specified paperwork to generate production reports
* Observes machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction
* Reviews product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance, assuring product meets quality requirements
* Performs routine machine maintenance
* Use shovel and broom to clean up material spills
* Assists other Operators to set up machines and any other necessary tasks to adhere to deadlines and completion of product
* Ensures all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area
* Operates Forklift or other mobile equipment as needed
* Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
Job Requirements
* Lifting and carrying concrete bags up to 70 pounds
* Requires often lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, twisting, sitting, standing
* Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
* High school graduate or equivalent
