Position Overview.

The Plant Operator is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the asphalt plant to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.

This role involves monitoring plant systems, coordinating materials flow, performing adjustments, and maintaining equipment to meet production goals and specifications.

Key Responsibilities



* Operate and monitor plant controls to regulate material flow and asphalt production.



* Ensure production meets required quality standards and specifications.



* Perform routine inspections and maintenance on plant equipment.



* Troubleshoot and resolve operational or mechanical issues as they arise.



* Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.



* Coordinate with loader operators, truck drivers, and quality control personnel to meet daily schedules.



* Enforce and follow all company, environmental and safety regulations.



* Assist with general plant housekeeping and upkeep.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience



* High school diploma or General Education Degree GED is preferred.



* 2-3 years of previous related experience.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements



* Previous knowledge of heavy equipment preferred.

Work Requirements



* Must be 18 years of age or older.



* Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.



* Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.



* Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.



* Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.



* Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.



* Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.

Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Coveralls.



* Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations
