Steel Material Handler- Fabrication Shop

Description We are a growing fabrication shop seeking a skilled Material Handler to manage the movement, organization, and preparation of steel and materials throughout our facility.

This position is critical to keeping our laser operators productive and our shop running efficiently.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and experienced with material handling equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Operate forklifts and overhead cranes, to move steel, materials, and finished products throughout the shop and yard · Load and unload deliveries and outgoing shipments · Support the laser operators · Organize and maintain material inventory in shop and yard storage areas · Perform basic cutting operations (saw, torch, plasma) as needed · Surface preparation including grinding, cleaning, and deburring · Sort and stage materials for production · Assist laser operators with material positioning and fit-up as needed · Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas · Follow all safety protocols and procedures
